Guided Support

If you have a specific problem that you’re working on, it may be that you just want a helping hand or to have a quick conversation with somebody who can offer different perspectives. In a 30 minute guided session, we have a quick introduction and discussion of where you most need support, and focus the remainder of the time on an exercise or two that will hopefully help to provide clarity about your next decision.

For many people this is a great jump start to working through other problems, but if you are encountering additional challenges it may be helpful to take advantage of the experiences of other people in a similar situation, or in a more structured 1:1 coaching.

Group Coaching

Sometimes all it takes is meeting other people who are facing challenges related to yours in order to realize that things are not as bleak as they may seem. There is such good value in hearing first hand how someone with a different perspective has dealt with a particular issue, and it is common for all participants in a group coaching session to come away feeling like they are making better progress than they had originally thought.

A group coaching package involves six themed sessions, designed to address various aspects of large transitions. Two clients with similar goals is all it takes to make a group, and we meet online at an agreed time once a week. The coach acts as a facilitator to introduce the theme, and to encourage discussion among the group, with the aim of coming up with solutions towards common problems. A summary of the meeting is e-mailed to the participants after the session. This could be just right for you, but some people prefer a more personal 1:1 approach.

1:1 Coaching

Individual coaching is a partnership, where you sets goals for each session, and the coach listens, supports and guides you towards the decisions that you will take next. Sessions can be scheduled flexibly to meet your needs, although generally once a week for several months is a recommended meeting time to work on a transition.

An advantage of 1:1 coaching is that each session is completely unique to your needs, and any exercises or strategies we work on together are specific to your goals and action steps. Another advantage of working individually with a coach is that you feel more accountable for your decisions and more likely to stay on the path you’ve decided to pursue. Finally, you will be able to stay in touch with the coach by e-mail outside of sessions if you have specific questions or needs that arise.

For most clients, 1:1 coaching is the most effective way to develop the courage for their transition.
